She's a feisty entertainer--be it on the ramp or the big screen. It's been more than a decade since she first started modelling, but still we can't get enough of Dipannita Sharma! She has brought the same poise and grace with which she walks ramps to the big screen. All this, despite having admitted on numerous occasions that modelling will always be her one true love.
A small town girl from Assam, she got her big break in Bollywood in 2002 when she auditioned for a role in '16 December' (starring Milind Soman and Danny Denzongpa) and she passed the screen test with flying colours. This is hardly surprising since she was one of the five finalists in the Miss India competition back in 1998. Back then, she won the Miss Photogenic title--almost a given when you consider that she was pretty much destined for the ramp and fashion shoots!
Now, she's back on the silver screen with her supporting role in the recently released, 'Jodi Breakers.' Working alongside industry veterans such as Bipasha Basu and R. Madhavan, she's sure to leave her mark with this film! And for someone whose ambitions were never Bollywood-centric, she certainly seems to be making waves in the movie biz anyway!
She's even dabbled in theatre, television, dance and has even been moonlighting as a yachting entrepreneur. All we know is that with each fresh role--in real or reel life--her performance seems to be getting better. So you can be sure that even if 'Jodi Breakers' fails at the box office, Dipannita's performance will make waves.
So for being multi-faceted, energetic, passionate and rather stunning, Dipannita Sharma is our 'Babe of the Week.'
