We haven't done one of these in a while as our more loyal readers may have taken note of but if anyone could convince us to get back into this particular groove it's Bollywood's hottest new 'eye-grabber,' Esha Gupta. Her images alone were enough to convince us she deserved her spot here but fear not oh non-shallow ones, this one's got plenty of other goodies to share as well.
Today marks the release of her latest film, a horror/thriller variety that director Vikram Bhatt never veers from--Raaz 3D. But first, a history lesson. All of 26, Gupta's already bagged the Femina Miss India title in 2007 and appeared in the Kingfisher's Swimsuit Calendar in 2010. Naturally, we've stalked every picture in those Kingfisher galleries and strongly recommend you do the same! She went on to make her onscreen debut in the commercially successful Jannat 2 and needless to say, all the right eyebrows were raised. It got her a three-film contract with Vishesh Films and there are plenty of offers from other Bollywood Big shots as well.
Time for the kicker. Several sources have revealed that Gupta's impeccable professionalism on set is going to get her far. It seems she refused a body double for the pivotal nude scenes in Raaz 3D and got through it with utmost poise. Impressive for a newcomer to say the least. And then there's the matter of her taking on pretty risky roles for a newcomer. Different characters, challenging scripts and daring plots. If she's out to get noticed, she's getting what she wants.
We're definitely excited to see her performance in this movie which will be the final decider of course, but either which way we like everything we've seen thus far from the sexy siren. So for being utterly gorgeous, seemingly daring and confident in her choices and of course, thoroughly professional, Esha Gupta is our 'Babe of the Week.'
