We wouldn't blame you if you thought we were talking about Bollywood's original Kajol. Still no need to gasp in frustration just yet as this newbie that we're talking about might be just as promising as her (almost) namesake. After all, Kaajal Vashisht--who even has the Bollywood chic double 'a' in her first name--just made her B-Town debut. She stars as the heroine's best friend in the latest blockbuster, Rowdy Rathore.
It's never an easy task for a newcomer to hold their own against a veteran star like Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha (who may be only two films old, but has created a niche for herself already). Based on the verdicts of fans and critics, Kaajal Vashisht has got the required oomph factor to 'get noticed.' And with one glimpse of her impressive resume, it's only all too apparent that she's destined for big things.
For one thing she speaks seven languages--Hindi, English, Tamil, Marathi, Gujarati and Marwari! She's also a trained dancer and a kickboxer. All in all, multi-talented babe, who also happens to be as hot as they come.
Even her journey thus far is an interesting one. It may be the ultimate cliche these days but Kaajal Vashisht had no intention of becoming an actress. Rather, she contemplated a career in journalism, but realized she wasn't cut out for a Media Studies course. And so, she decided to lean towards her other interest, theatre. In just the last year or so, she's already done a multitude of Gujarati plays in the city.
In other words, she even has a decent acting background to get started off in Bollywood--in fact, her pre-film acting experience is way more than most other wannabe starlets!
So, for finally making her Hindi film debut--and that too in a big flick like Rowday Rathore--Kaajal Vashisht is our Babe of the Week.
