The ever-gorgeous and playful Katy Perry is back on the singles market following her separation from hubby Russell Brand. Perry married Brand in a Hindu ceremony near the Ranthambhore Tiger Sanctuary in Rajasthan back in October 2010. The couple had been dating since mid-2009.

They seemed like a match made in heaven, what with their mutually eccentric behaviour and of course, a shared love for all things Indian. In fact, they even got matching tattoos--that too in Devanagari script--on their arms.

The two were practically inseparable as they strutted down innumerable red carpets and graced social events looking the epitome of marital bliss. However, their union lasted only 14 months, as Brand filed for divorce in late December citing irreconcilable differences. This announcement came after rumours were rife about tensions between the two.

While it's sad that this seemingly happy couple had to part ways, the good news is that Katy Perry is back in the singles game! This means she'll be up to her old antics and crazy partying lifestyle. In other words, we can fully expect her to unleash her wild side and pose for some raunchy photo shoots and make some sexy music videos--not that being married really hindered that in the first place!

Either way, Katy Perry's our babe of the week; here's hoping her next marriage lasts significantly longer!
