At 20, this fresh-faced blonde beauty became the second-youngest person to ever win a nomination for 'Best Actress' at the Academy Awards for her admirable performance in 'Winter's Bone.' Anyone who saw her stark, evocative performance as an unflinching Mountain girl who hacks through ice-thin social terrain in this movie would have bet that we were going to see great things from this girl. Now, it seems like the time to cash in on those bets has finally arrived.
Having landed the starring role of 'Katniss' in the 'Hunger Games' trilogy, Lawrence is on the brink of the kind of fame that's on par with the industry greats. Cited to be the next 'Twilight' in the absence of any more Harry Potter, LOTR or Vampire-ridden sequels, there's clearly a spot that needs to filled and 'Hunger Games' is more than happy to do it.
Lawrence admitted that she thought long and hard before agreeing to the film because she knew it would mean sacrificing her private life but she decided to take the plunge anyway. Judging by the trailer of the movie, not to mention the perfectly pretty package she comes in, we're inclined to think she made the right choice. For herself--and the entire red-blooded male population around the world! The best part of it all is that she's still so young, we probably haven't even sent the best of her yet!
So for being the master of her own fate, being exceptionally talented and inexplicably beautiful on top of having a seemingly charismatic personality, Jessica Lawrence is our uncontested choice for 'Babe of the Week.'
Here's some more Jessica for your viewing pleasure:
Here she is, unbelievably confident and rather enigmatic on the red carpet at the premiere of Hunger Games in L.A. :
