You could sell your current ipad for 399$, not such a bad bargain from the original price at all. With high resale prices and no increase in the price of its second iteration you could easily afford the new one at a near-zero price differential.
You could just buy the new one anyway. After all, it really only depends on how deep your pockets are.
However, as with any other product, it remains to be seen whether the upgrade is really worth it. What are the new features that make this model so much more promising , and is it just a better-looking version of its earlier self? (Not that that’s the worst mode of comparison considering most men do the same with women!)
So here’s the hard sell.
-It’s 33% lighter and 15% faster, and the difference in this respect is definitely palpable the minute you pick it up.
-It has a dual A-5 chip which means it can do all the work you did before (surfing the web etc. ), only faster. Twice as fast apparently but I didn’t find this change quite as up to the mark as promised.
-If you’re an iPad gamer then you definitely need to make the upgrade because the graphics are up to 9 times better than the original Ipad’s performance in the same department. This one’s no marketing gimmick, it’s just great technology.
-And finally, it has 2 cameras. This one’s my favourite and you’ll soon figure out why. The Ipad 2 has a tiny camera on the front and back, designed for facetime video talks with all the people you love the most, but separated by time and fate on the other side of the globe. Long-distance relationship on the rocks? This ingenious piece of technology might be just what you need to save it!
All these upgraded features in a lighter design, complete with a 10-hour battery just as good as the first one. Seems like a pretty good deal to me!
