If you're used to Indian monsoons, then you already know there's nothing more irritating than the sudden influx of house flies! They're the black-winged bane of the humid season, not to mention carriers of a million diseases. So when one man came up with a 'weapon' to solve this problem, we couldn't have been more thankful.

The tool in question? A shotgun that 'fires measured pinches of salt that instantly kill any winged pest on impact.' Creator, Lorenzo Magglore, is aptly named it the Bug-a-Salt. There are no batteries, no chemicals and absolutely no quirks since it is as harmless to humans as it is deadly to flies.

Magglore is using fundraising site IndieGoGo to get his shotgun on the market. While he had only asked for $15,000 to bring his creation to life initially, fans on the website have already raised $62,000 and there are still 45 days left before the drive ends!

So, how much would it cost to make this awesome fly-killing gadget your own? Pre-orders start at a mere INR 1,600. A pittance for a fly-free monsoon if you ask us!

Here's a demo of the gadget:
