It’s 7 months before the day that is likely to change your entire life--the birth of your baby. Despite the happiness that everyone insists must be enveloping your home, your lady's a moody mess, oscillating between hormonal rages (directed at you) and food cravings in the middle of the night. It’s going to be hard, but you need to do everything in your power to make sure she stays happy. After all, if you have a happy mommy, you will have a happy baby. We have put together a few simple things you can do to ensure your beloved expecting lady's happiness by meeting her expectations.
Discuss Her Great Expectations
This should be done at the outset of the pregnancy. Find out what she’s envisioned for these 9 months. Has it always been something scary as opposed to 9 months of sheer bliss? Her answer will set the premise for everything else you do. Just talking to her about this will show her that you care.
No 2 months of this pregnancy are going to come with similar desires and cravings from your woman. If one month she can’t get enough of your scrambled eggs for breakfast, she might gag at the very sight of them the next month. Don’t expect the same things to keep her happy for all 9 months, because if that were the case, there would be no need for you to read this!
Read About Pregnancy
The more you stay informed, the more in tune you can be to her needs. Get your hands on the right books and speak to other women about their experiences. Don’t be weird about it, just draw it up casually in conversation, so you can get a better idea of what to do and what to avoid. Also, keep in mind that every woman is not the same.
If there is anything men have learned through the history of time it is that they should never assume they understand what a woman wants. Always, and we mean ALWAYS ask. That way you leave no room for error and avoid anything that could upset her. Of course there is a chance that all she wants is for you to do something wrong, so that she can get angry with you. If this is the case just let it happen. Trust us on this one!
Bring Her Flowers
You can never pamper a woman enough. At least with flowers not much can go wrong. She’ll know you were thinking of her. Plus, it's a safer bet than buying her chocolates, which she could end up hating. How many times should you repeat this exercise? As often as possible but with a reasonable time lapse so she doesn’t wisen up to your 'trick'!
Be Present At All Doctor's Appointments
It doesn’t matter how hard you’re working to support your family; make room for these appointments in your busy schedule or not only will she feel all alone, but you'll also miss out on some pretty important moments in your soon-to-be-born child’s life. Be there for that first sonography or for important decisions like whether she'll use painkillers ans such. She’ll feel comforted and you won’t regret it.
Fire Up That Stove
Pregnancy usually comes with aching backs and feet. The chances of your old lady wanting to cook you a hearty meal after a day that began with morning sickness are very slim. So just learn how to cook. It would also help if every once in a while you treat her to peaceful a meal in bed.
Foot Rub in The Tub
Pregnant women are known to love a warm relaxing bath and a good ol’ foot rub. Combine the two and your woman will know just how far you’re willing to stretch yourself for her. Draw her a warm bath every few days, and give those toes and foot arches a well-deserved break.
Take Her Out
Whether it’s a walk in the park or a romantic outdoor dinner, get her out of the house at least once a week. It’ll keep her spirits high, not to mention a little activity is good for the baby and her post-pregnancy weight-loss plans!
