As the first female prime minister of the U.K., not to mention the longest serving one, Margaret Thatcher was one of the first women to achieve what was long thought to be impossible—a true place of power in politics!

Thanks to her strictly conservative policies, hard line against trade unions and several other tough oppositions, she was no push over and quickly earned the nickname of the 'Iron Lady.’
