This was her debut film and what a debut it was! J.P. Dutta ensured she absolutely shone in the 2000 release of the film and even opposite a huge star like Abhishek Bacchan she stole the show and received rave reviews for her performance.
The epic biopic earned her a Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut and her fate as a future Bollywood heroine was sealed to say the least. What we really respect about this movie was that her choice of role in a debut. She took a risk, gave it her all and it paid off. We all like to see a little bit of spunk in our B-town heroines after all, don't we?
