Not a Love Story

Everyone is well aware of Ram Gopal Varma's love for true macabre stories, which is precisely why it didn't come as a surprise when he proposed to make a film based on the gruesome murder trial of Maria Susairaj and her lover who allegedly murdered her other lover, Neeraj Grover, in cold blood.

The film was released mid-2011 and starred Mahie Gill, Deepak Dobriyal and Ajay Gehi. Though the similarities between the real case and the script were uncanny, Varma was careful to announce that the film was not a biopic.
