1997 was the year it all began to come together for Lopez. First it was a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in her film Selena and then, she met OjaniNoa, a Mimai waiter who proposed to her in the middle of a wrap party. 

She accepted and the couple got married but they broke up within a year even though they remained amicable. However, many years later she sued him to prevent him from releasing a tell-all book about their relationship.
