Contrary to popular belief, all beauty pageant winners aren't exactly who they pretend to be in an effort to lift that prestigious crown and the Miss Universe Pageant is no different. In fact, the whole pageant has been fraught with controversy since its inception.

So as Miss Universe 2012 draws nearer and nearer (the final round is on 18th September) we decided to be a bit devious. Here's our list of the worst Miss Universe Controversies till date. Expect less chants for world peace and elegantly clad women and more of nudity, murder and outlandish behavior!
