Miss Universe 2009

From being in the news for all the right reasons, Stefania Fernandez quickly saw things go downhill as well. First she was crowned by her own compatriot, making it into the Guiness Book of World Records for the same in 2009 and saw dizzying heights of success but controversy was quick to follow.

First the rumor began that the crown had been fixed that particular year but she defended herself gracefully. Then a far more gruesome and speculative scandal began. Authorities accused her boyfriend, Julio Marcollu of murdering another young man. Fernandez chose to protect him  by becoming his alibi and fighting for his innocence. He was let off but the speculation continues till this date. Miss Universe and Murder trials? We love it.
