Adam's Peak

Located in Sri Pada, on the south western edge of the hill country, Adam's Peak is not a journey that should be attempted by the weak-hearted or adventurous-spirit lacking sort. It is a place of rather dramatic pilgrimage for Buddhists (only between the months of December and May) and the challenge lies in the fact that one can only make the strenuous climb at night.

Think up to 4 hours of a grueling climb to the peak which reaches a height of 8000 feet! At the top of the hill is the Punsisi Rest House which is clean, safe and absolutely spacious in its accommodation. The view--as you can clearly see is illustrated in the image above--is absolutely breathtaking. Whatever you do, if you're fit enough, you shouldn't miss out on this experience.
