These talented actors from our very own subcontinent have broken through the proverbial glass ceiling in international television shows and how!

5 Hilarious Indian Characters on International Television

Tom Haverford

Tom Haverford, born Darwish Sabir Ismael Gani is the uproarious TV show Parks and Recreation's most hilarious fictional character yet. Of course, we wouldn't expect anything less from comedian Aziz Ansari who essays the role. As a sarcastic, underachieving government official with abnormally high levels of 'swagger' he made his mark on the face of international television and his celebrity status has skyrocketed since.

Now he's the star and creator of the unbelievably hilarious sketch comedy show Human Giant as well. It only ran for two seasons but they're two seasons we'll never forget or hesitate to watch again and again! His parents were South Indian immigrants so despite having been born and raised in America, this man is definitely desi at his roots.
