Musical Saw

This is about as odd as it gets. After all, a serious workman’s tool finding a place to call home among gentle, melodic instruments seems a bit extreme. However, the musical saw has done just that! Don’t be too quick to judge, because the resulting sound is simply exquisite.

Its ethereal sound has been likened to the theremin and even the clear singing voice of a woman! This is probably why several renowned composers, including the likes of Alfred Schnittke, have used the saw in a number of their works.
