These massive blackouts caused entire cities to halt!

World's Biggest Power Shortages

Check out 5 Indian Bands You Should Know here.

India, 2012

On tuesday 31 July, 2012, the country's energy crisis cascaded when three of its regional grids collapsed resulting in the kind of madness the world hasn't seen in a while. Think 620 million people from over 20 states left in the dark for hours on end. Traffic in major cities like Delhi came to a virtual halt. Hospitals were left in helpless and coal miners were trapped underground.

This massive power failure has raised many questions about India's questionable infrastructure and state governments' inability to draw only up to the specified amount allotted to them from grids. To make light of a dark situation though, the impact of this catastrophe was definitely softened by Indians' familiarity with dealing with such situations.
