World Records
Between the 2006 and 2010 Commonwealth Games, this Indian shooting ace performed a few more unforgettable feats. In a pre-Olympic event in Hannover, Germany, Gagan shot a pains air rifle score higher than the then-world record. He beat out Thomas Farnik of Austria's 703.1 with a 704.3.
Then, he shot a perfect 1600 in the qualification round for the ISSF World Cup Final. He scored 103.5 in the final round tallying 703.5 to gain the universe record! Then, on November 4, 2008, he broke Thomas Farnik's record set in the 2006 World Cup. He attributed his success to Barack Obama who was elected President on the same day, stating that the newly-elected US President inspired him greatly.
