Stay Alert

Most road accidents happen because at least one of the drivers involved was not paying attention. Avoid any kind of distractions when you're driving--be it talking on cell phone, texting or even listening to loud music that leaves you clueless to the sounds of the road.

Another thing to watch out for is weariness--many drivers tend to fall asleep at the wheel, especially while driving at night. So, if you aren't up to it, avoid driving. Also, at this point, we hope, it goes without saying, "Don't drink and drive!"
