This is the most recent film of this 'women centric genre' that achieved such intense blockbuster success, not to mention critical acclaim, that one might actually look back and thank Vidya Balan for changing perceptions about women centric films in Bolywood. Namely that it can mint money for producers just as long as they get the important elements right.

The film's an unofficial biopic of legendary B-Grade actress Silk Smitha and despite the ample cleavage on display/ raunchy dance numbers, the crisp dialogue delivery and strong storyline make Vidya's portrayal of Silk Smitha an unforgettable character. A true rarity for a female Bollywood character indeed.
