Ever wondered where Tom Six got the idea for his twisted plot for 'The Human Centipede?' Because we're willing to bet he got his hands on some 18th century news clippings about this socialite from New Orleans. It all started when a fire broke out in her mansion's kitchen during a party and when firefighters entered the house the sight before them was too cadaverous to be true. 

Slaves who had been manacled to the floor and walls had started the fire to raise an alarm, and many of them had been the subject of vicious medical experiments. A woman had no limbs and her flesh sliced off to look like a caterpillar; a man's sex had been forcibly changed; and another woman's limbs were severed and reset to look like a crab! Many victims were still alive when discovered. Before the lurid socialite could be brought to justice though, she quickly fled and was never caught!
