In such situations, slippers will only kick the slimy muck and grime right off the road and onto the backs of your legs, satchel and anything else it can reach! So what's your best solution? The perfect footwear, of course!

Gumboots are the No.1 choice and trust us, you can get some really stylish ones if you look in the right places. For men, we'd suggest sticking to very neutral, darker shades like navy blues and blacks. A mid-shin length or even higher works if you're tall. Make sure you clean them regularly too. But if for some reason you don't like the idea of gumboots and dry feet, whatever happens, please go for proper shoes and not slippers. Even canvas high-tops will do! Just make sure your shoes are not leather or suede.
