Flight of Fancy

It’s easy to disregard the true wonder of being able to fly continent to continent when there are hundreds of thousands of commercial flights taking off everyday. We tend to forget there was in fact a time when our lives were untouched by electricity, let alone roaring metal objects that can somehow fly through the air! That’s why the Wright Brothers’ 1899 flight--the first ever by humans--makes it to our list.
