Prithvi

This surface-to-surface short-range ballistic missile has been in service since 1994. Currently Prithvi II is being used by the Indian Army, Airforce and Navy. This iteration of this missile is codenamed Dhanush, and it can carry a 1,000 kg warhead to a distance of 350 kms! The Prithvi system operates using a stabilizing board that is akin to a bow; the missile, of course, is reminiscent of an arrow--an arrow that has an operational range of several kilometers!
