Warrington Philip
A former West Indian first-class cricketer, he represented the Leeward Islands cricket team in the Red Stripe Cup during the 1990s and played for his home island on several occasions. He's well remembered for having taken the wicket of Trinidadian sensation Brian Lara in a Red Stripe Match too. On February 16, 2006, he decided to slash the throat of his wife of 4 years and leave her dead in the back of her car.
In 2008, a jury in Charlestown found him guilty of murder and though his sentencing was deferred till February 2009, he was eventually sentenced to life in prison. We know what you're thinking and it needs to be asked--what is it with West Indian cricketers and their wives?!
