When the Mumbai Indians took on the Deccan Chargers in Vizag, there was a lot at stake, given that the Harbhajan Singh-led side had unexpectedly lost to the Pune Warriors India at home. With all the pressure on them, the MI bowlers were tasked with bowling to a decent line-up led by Kumar Sangakkara. And finally, when the Sri Lankan had his bails dislodged by Munaf Patel, the umpires deemed it not out.

The on-field action happened so fast that the officials thought the ball had ricocheted off Dinesh Karthik to knock the bails over. However, replays suggested that Sanga was clean bowled. But the men in the middle refused to budge, which led to Bhajji, Munaj and co. to gang up on them and force them to go to the third umpire. Eventually, the TV replay was looked and the umpires' decision was overturned after some rather undignified scenes that even the commentators thought contravened the laws of the game.
