These 7 tennis champs made their mark on the All England Club and how!

Bjorn Borg

Any true tennis fan will vouch for this man's intensity on the court--especially clay court. It was clear early on in his life that he would be breaking records and making an indelible mark on the face of the sport since he became the youngest winner of Italian championship at only 18. But when he followed it up with five titles at Wimbledon, despite his obvious preference for clay, no one could have predicted the legendary status he eventually achieved in the sport.

His greatest strength was his very muscular shoulders, which allowed him to lash at balls with a heavy top spin. Besides this, he had an incredible defense, impeccable footwork, physical fitness and mental toughness that only legends seem to have. He quit tennis after only nine years but still managed to achieve far more than others who played much longer.
