Amazing Achievements

It's hard to give a full sense of Kom's incredible achievements. She's a five-time World Boxing Champion, the only woman to have ever won a medal in each one of the 6 championships, and is ranked No.4 in the 51 kg women's category. She took two-year-long sabbatical only to come back with an even more powerfully packed punch, to clinch her fourth consecutive world title! 

India has spared no expense in ensuring that Kom knows they are proud of her. From a street leading up to Manipur being named in her honor and the prestigious Arjuna Award and Padma Shree to honoring her with the position of Additional Superintendent of Police in the Manipuri State Govt, Kom's efforts have got fair recognition. SportsPro rated her as the 38th most remarkable athlete in the world!
