While all his major wins have been thoroughly impressive, we take a look at some of the truly remarkable triumphs of the new World No.1.

French Open 2009

The God of Grass finally broke his silence on clay by winning the till-then elusive French Open title--his only win at Roland Garros till date. Federer was finally able to crack the code after failing three years in a row (always against Rafael Nadal). In 2009 though he faced the 23rd seed Robin Soderling--who had defeated Nadal in the fourth round itself.

Federer won the final in straight sets (6-1, 7-6, 6-4) and finally completed a career Gland Slam.
